It’s officially spring! The weather and the calendar aren’t always in sync about the seasons, but if it doesn’t feel like spring yet, it will soon enough. I guess each season has its advantages, but there’s something about spring that just gets me! Here are 10 of the many reasons to love spring!

  1. Warm weather. I don’t love a heat wave, but I absolutely hate being cold. Knowing most of the freezing weather is behind us makes me very happy!
  2. Longer days. More hours of sunlight offers all kinds of physical and emotional benefits. It’s easier to get vitamin D when there’s more time to be outside, and more daylight is way better for your mood than cold, dark days.
  3. Trees and flowers blooming. Is there anything more beautiful than trees starting to blossom? Flowers and leaves brings color. Color and pretty flowers always make me feel good!
  4. Seasonal produce. First of all- yum!  And second- the exciting variety of warm weather fruits and vegetables make it easier to eat healthy.
  5. No more bundling up. There’s something so liberating about leaving the house in just a sweater, rather than puffy coat, hat and scarf.
  6. Fresh air. You can finally open the windows! Heated homes are stuffy but if you open the windows you’ll freeze. Now you can open the windows and let the special smell of spring freshen up your home.
  7. More time outdoors. Being outside in the sunlight feels amazing, especially after being cooped up inside all winter.
  8. Outdoor exercise. Warm weather literally calls you to outdoor activities, which makes good fitness habits so much easier to maintain. Run outside, go for long walks, or a bike ride, and remember that soon you’ll even be able to swim outdoors.
  9. Spring clothes. Besides being less bulky than winter wear, spring fashion is just happier.
  10. Renewal. I know this one sounds sappy, but it really is as if everything comes back to life in spring. The trees and flowers, animals return, the birds sing. And it’s not just nature- it’s as if everyone in the neighborhood comes out of winter hiding once the weather is warmer and the days are longer.
