It’s officially springtime and we know a lot of you are going to start spring cleaning! We have a few tips for you that will make this the best spring cleaning yet!

1. Make a plan:

Many attempts at organization fail because the task of cleaning up the entire house can seem daunting and never-ending. A great way to tackle this burden is to start in one area of the house and move to the next once finished. Don’t run all over doing each room little by little, you’ll end up losing where you were and will miss out on the joy and motivation of seeing each room cleaned one by one. This ensures that every room gets a proper deep cleaning and that you stay on track.

2. Allow plenty of time:

Don’t expect the organization to happen overnight. Each area may require different amounts of attention so it’s best to schedule a couple of hours each day to work on getting that particular area organized. Getting a garage whipped into shape will take far more time than it takes to organize a closet.

3. Get the Family Involved:

Divide and conquer is the motto! This is a great time of year to get the entire family to work together and have some fun. Even the most unwilling helper can make a big difference in the workload. Try throwing on some music or establishing a family reward as an incentive to get the work done.

4. Invest in organization products:

Most houses have tons of clutter and having nowhere to put it is a big part of the problem. This is why it’s important to invest in organization/storage products. The right storage products can go along way in freeing up space and keeping things organized for the foreseeable future.

5. Clean out your closet:

Closets can seem like the most daunting place to clean & organize but it is important periodically go through them and get rid of any clothes we aren’t wearing anymore which can help free up a lot of space.

This is a great opportunity to donate, sell, or throw away old pieces you don’t wear anymore. A good rule is to ask yourself is ” When was the last time I wore this? and can I see myself wearing it again?”

6. Digital declutter:

A lot of us don’t think about the digital clutter we have on our phones and computers. Reorganizing and deleting our old files or pictures can go a long way in helping us stay organized and on track. It can also save us money on having to run out and get the latest upgrade with bigger storage capacity. If you have the time go through your phone and computer and delete of anything you don’t use anymore
