Top 5 Hair Removal Methods

Hair removal can be tricky sometimes, depending on the area and the desired appearance afterwards. In my experience, certain areas work better with certain methods of hair removal. Here are the top 5:

  1. Waxing- waxing involves hot wax being smoothed onto the skin. A wax strip is then placed on top and ripped off, taking the hair on the wax along with it. I personally think waxing is ideal for your face, legs, underarms, and back, as it can be painful and irritating in more sensitive areas.
  2. Shaving- shaving involves using a cream or soap to moisturize the skin. A razor is then gently swept along the area that shaves off the hairs. I personally think shaving is ideal for the legs, toes, underarms, and lower arms, as shaving can cause bumpy irritation and can also leave behind a fine stubble in other areas.
  3. Sugaring- sugaring involves a hot mixture of sugar, water, and lemon juice being smoother onto the skin. The hot sugar is then ripped off in the opposite direction, pulling the hairs out. Sugaring is ideal on almost all sensitive areas of the body, such as bikini and face, as it is less irritating than waxing yet equally as effective.
  4. Laser Hair Removal- lasering hair involves a laser being directed at the target area. The laser burns the hair off the follicle, which after a number of sessions, leaves the follicle unable to grow hair permanently. Lasering is ideal on all areas of the body, but it can be expensive.
  5. Threading- threading involves a fine string being twisted between your fingers. The thread is then manipulated through the hair and pulled taut, which takes out the hairs caught in the string. Threading is ideal for the face and smaller areas on the body, as it is more time consuming and great for reducing potential irritation in sensitive areas.
